Are you wondering on how silence can scream? If your answer is ’yes’, then thank the almighty- coz, then u have been through the bright side of life to an extend. But if your answer is ’no’ then probably you know how that scream feels like. You know how loud that scream is and how painful, right?
’’Bitter chocolate’’ is one such book, but yes here- the silence around you when u read that book screams at u. The words in the book stare at you, with tears of blood in them. Doesn’t the very title of the book sound weird to u? Am sure it does, as long as you have had one chocolate in ur life! Dunno if it makes sense for me to actually say somethin’ on the book. But one thing is for sure- this is not the best book to read! This is no book to read, if you are lookin’ out for a break n wanna read a light stuff.
The book hurts...it yells into ur ears and it suffocates u. But the book tells you a truth- a truth that prevails in the society, around you and me. Lets’ not turn a blind eye towards it, let’s accept the reality and help people survive through it. That’s the least we can do.
It talks of children who survive Child Sexual Harrasment and the amount of courage it takes to do so. But Pinki Virani probably has the right to say so, as she has felt how it is to be a victim...how it is to be at the receiving end! She has lived through the words, she writes today.
This one review cannot change anything- I know, but several drops make a mighty ocean. Let us start speaking of this...let us accept the truth, and then maybe we can make a difference to the world.
