BIWI NO.1...A movie which was released almost 6 years back in 1999. U guys must be wondering why am I writing it review now...??
The only reason is the reviews of this film which are present in Mouthshut.com. The 2 reviewers have said as many bad things abt the movie tht they could and those who’ve commented hv sung in unison.
BUT I BEG TO DIFFER MY DEAR FRIENDZ.....
I watched BIWI No.1 almost 6 times and I still feel the movie is worth a watch. And I’m very sure I can see it for another 6 or 600 times. Its not just me but millions of other Indians who luv to be entertained by this medium.People want to see feel -good movies which make them happy at the end.
Biwi No.1 is a light comedy by David Dhawan...[[who made some wonderful(Aankhen, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No.1 etc), some really good(Coolie No.1, Haseena Maan Jaayegi etc) and some really bad(almost all the Govinda-Raveena flicks) movies]].
Its a very light hearted comedy which has some really good music by Anu Malik. The songs were chartbusters of 1999. Remember the Title song... ’’Ishq chandi hai’’, ’’jungle hai aadhi raat hai’’, ’’Hai Hai Mirchi’’ and ’’Chunari chunari’’...I know u wd definitely be. Starring the hottest stars at that time...Salman and Karisma accompanied by others like Tabu, Sushmita, Anil Kapoor, Saif etc.
The story is about the women(Karisma) who brings her husband(Salman), who is having an affair with a beautiful model(Sushmita), back to her. All the actors have done justice to their roles. Its not like ..if Karisma is the central protaganist..she’s getting all the scenes and others are sidelined.
I still remember..the newspaper articles stating tht Biwi No.1 as the biggest hit of 1999, followed by Sarfarosh(another wonderful movie ing Aamir Khan and Sonali)and Hum Dil de chuke Sanam(ing again Salman, Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya). Biwi No.1 was the only blockbuster of tht year. All others were superhits or just hits.
My last words would be that ..Its a wonderful movie with everything going its way. A must watch for all those who haven’t seen it.. And those who hv watched it...wd definitely be dying to see it again.....I know darling....Its hot or Is It Cool?? Check it out urself....HA HA HA !!!!
