"An eye for an eye, makes the whole world blind"

There are some movies which are beyond the "HIT"/"FLOP", number games and these kinda categories. These kind of films are rare and its only once in a while do we get such movies released.

This movie should be watched by each and every Indian. It depicts, one of the black chapters in Indian History. It not only delves into the bomb blasts, but more importantly the reasons behind them and the horrific aftermaths. It is about how the Government, the system failed to curb/prevent this violent period. The events remain a "BLACK" patch in the nation’s history.

What led to this Blast? The destruction of Babri Masjid. The Bomb Blasts were a part of the masterminded revenge.

The people who caused the destruction of the babri Masjid, were wrong. What did they achieve? A chain of communal riots across the country.Loss of life, property.

Now the peole, who masterminded the revenge, they were equally wrong. They fuelled the already tense situation.More precious lives were lost.

Innocent minds were filled with venom on both sides, were sent to fight and cause destruction, just because few opportunist politicians or businessmen wanted to settle their personal scores.

The tragedy can never be erased from our memories. Though the wounds may have been healed, scars still remain.Lets not repeat the mistakes done in the past, because Violence alone does not solve all problems."An eye for an eye, makes the whole world blind"

The story is based on events leading up to and after the Blasts.

The movie begins with the major Blasts in Bombay stock exchange and Worli passport office, followed by a series of blasts in various areas of Bombay(now Mumbai)a. During the investigations, the police find an abandoned Maruti Van, with arms and grenades. This is the breakthrough in their investigations. The rest of the plot describes about how the police get hold of the culprits, one by one. The statements given by these people describe, how was all this masterminded and who are the people responsible.

The movie also focusses on what happens to the people who r on the run from the cops, after the blasts. They r left no where to go, with no money. Their bosses abandon them and flee to Dubai. Its then they realize, what they did was crime and was not justified. One of them, Baadshah Khan, surrenders and turns as witness.

The movie moves back and forth in time.but is really not confusing.

Anurag Kashyap’s effort deserves a standing ovation.Few directors could be as brave as him. Also  his hardworked research is evident in the film.Kudos.to him.His execution is tremendous. Also the way he has used real-life names, instead of giving screen names, makes the story more real. One of the best movie ever produced by Indian film Industry. The movie is an eye opener in several ways.

Performances - Kay Kay is brilliant as the cop, Rakesh Maria. Excellent portrayal.Aditya Srivastava’s performance is superior, he portrays the agony, pain and anger of Baadsha Khan effectively.

But the mind blowing performance of the movie is by Pawan Malhotra, as Tiger Memon.Dont have words to describe his performance. In one line "One of the finest(may not be poular) performances, I have seen till date".

There are many characters in the movie, played by various actors and to be honest everyone impresses.

Favorite Scene:-

During interrogation, Baadshah Khan says Allah was with them for this Jihad(the blasts).to which Rakesh Maria says " Allah was with us this time, otherwise we wud not have found the Maruti Van(which ultimately lead the police to the core of the case)".

All in all an outstanding movie, hard-hitting but a master piece. My advice is, Please make some time for yourselves and watch this film, if you have not yet watched.
