There are many bands that can come to ones mind when we think of metal/Rock ..Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd..and many more.....One of them which figures in the hard rock category and has made its mark on music in this genre is Black sabbath. The band was formed in 1968 in Birmingham and its original members were

This band laid the foundations of heavy metal in the 70s and virtually swept off popular music from the scene.The band was initially called Polka Tulk and then Earth.In no time they had a fervent following in England and soon the band called themselves Black sabbath as we know them today.
In 1969 they entered the recording studio to cut their first album.With their first album they reached the top ten on the Britsh charts and remained there for 3 months.
When they released Paranoid they became probably the first heavy metal band ever.The riffs of Toni Ioomi were out of this world.Paranoid reached Number One on British charts and Number Eight in the U.S. where it remained on the charts for more than a year and reached Platinum status

After this I never personally liked this bad ...This band to me was Ozzy and nothing more than that.....
Ofcorse after this too the band survived and did really well but then well it wasnt the Black sabbath known to the world in 1968 .
