This is not so much a review of the BB Bold 9900 as it is about the Blackberry after sales service. I had purchased a bold 9900 in October this year from an authorized dealer under warranty. I purchased it for an astronomical amount of Rs. 34, 000 thinking I had purchased an amazing phone. however little did I know what was to follow.
12 days back, the LCD panel of the phone developed cracks overnight without any physical exertion. Since it was under warranty, I took it to the BB India service center at fort, mumbai. They took the phone promising to give me a feedback in two days on whether it will be charged or will be a free replacement and said the phone will get repaired in 8 working days.
After 3 days when I called, an extremely rude telephone operator would just pick up the phone and say call up after 3-4 days without even listening to what I wanted to say. After two days when I asked to speak to someone higher up she said he is out of office.
After THREE more calls when I finally got to speak to him, he asked me to call back later.and this is just for the Quotation. On calling back, he informed me that the screen will be repaired at the cost of Rs. 12, 000/-, the most preposterous amount ever. On a bit of research, it is available for Rs. 3500 on the internet with a free do it yourself kit. I told him, I dont want to get it repaired and to please hand me back the phone. He said, I should collect it after two days.
Today its the fifth day since that day and I still have not received the phone. When I called up in the morning the operator just slammed the phone down on me and said we have not yet opened for the day. I am extremely, disgusted, agitated and hurt by this treatment by the company of one of their smartphone customers.
I ask that if they are not interested in even being polite, why do they mislead us with their fancy advertisements. my objective in writing this review is to warn readers before buying en expensive blackberry phone cause if god forbid anything goes wrong with it you will be treated worse than a world war refugee.
