I had previously posted a review on Z30 as I had that, But since my GF found the phone too attractive. She opted to use it.
I figured it was better in her soft hands than in mine for the no of times I dropped the phone. I bet she would not have dropped it even once in the last few months. :)
So Fast forwarding post that. I did not want to buy a BBZ30 again since I was running short of money and I was very particular for a Qwerty phone.
Thats comfortable for the big hands like mine. a good amount of research showed there were not many( hardly a handful to count) in the market with outdated models still running and the BB Qwerty siblings, I purchased a BBQ10 for 900 Dhirams with the value.
1:Dhs=16 INR so around 15K INR.
The phone comes with the same specs of a Z30 except for the display size, battery and hard keys( the Qwerty is such a bliss to touch, soft and very finger friendly).
Its up to date on technology and it has a lot more app on BB world than the Z30 arsenal. Since the time I picked this phone I dropped it around 10 times (yes am a little careless when I have a pack of cigarettes and lighter and my mobile.
Invariably something falls down). so far it does not have even a single scar! the Skype application freezes at times. and its a hassle. I noticed that the Skype app freezes on most of the phones such as iphone, BB Z30, Samsung Note 3, BB Q10.
Nokia 830 and so on. I figured it was the app and not the phone. Call quality is rock solid and music is awesome. the BB Headset that has rubber extensions is for adaptable posture to sit in your ears with out falling. it does not fall unless I want to pull it off. but its no were close to the HTC headset I had with boom sound for 55 Dhs.
That was a killer headset. Ok so with an updated OS, NFC, array of apps and sturdy body makes this knight a stand alone qwerty with touch!
Again my purpose is limited to browsing, Whatsapp, music, camera and very minimal of games.plus the regular calling and msgs.
This is a workhorse, it does the job very very well and if you looking for a cheap priced phone that does all the job for you without hassle and yet makes a bold statement in public (as if that matters) then this is a best buy.
I dont want and cant find any phone to compare it. But on a scale of personal satisfaction. Id give a 4+ for this. the other 1 point id like to keep it as a critic considering the little apps it has (100s) compared to Android (1000s) and apple (10000s).
Finally having said that. the BBQ10 Knight is fighting a lone battle and is still holding its fort until times to come!.
