Not an user-friendly phone

One day after looking into the Vodafone website I decided to go for storm over my iphone and went to buy the same from Vodafone store for 28000 rupees, that day I never thought that I am going to regret this decision. It took me atleast 10 days to get used to this so called sure type technology of storm. My fingers started paining, I was bit irritated by this.

One more thing, the service provider will charge you atleast 900 rs to activate the internet services every month. Its a big money from any individuals pocket. Having no choice I activated the same.

I transferred all my contact infos from the sim card and started using the phone. Its a great phone interms keyboard layout. The multitap keyboard makes the user to use it as that of any other phone with T9 dictionary.

Lets come to application, it was loaded with some basic application like messenger etc. We have limited application in the market. I downloaded Facebook, twitter, google maps, Bloomberg, google talk, yahoo messenger etc but I cannot go beyond this as it has no memory to install them. The available space is only 25 mb since most of them are utilized for os installation. Moment we reach 124 mb, the phone will hang and will demand a deletion of application. Pathetic, isn’t it?

Still now I am not able to figure out how to run youtube application in this. There is nothing to do with this phone like iphone as no space for applications and no paid application available for India market. Sync is very good in this phone, you can almost sync everything in your outlook to the phone right from calendar, contacts to even notes. I got it updated to version 5.0 which is not officially available fro Indian market again a very funny thing from bb. Then atleast my keypad started to feel smooth, some iphone like threaded messages, etc.

One more thing I forgot to tell you, when you add your mail like gmail to your phone it can download mails received from that instance which is not in case of iphone. And most bad part, you cannot see sent items. What a waste? Lets look into the phone as such, using in a condition like Delhi, where there a lot of dust accumulation, the screen has gap on the sides, where lot of dust settles in, and also on the camera lens. Hmm pathetic design.

It will hang when receiving a call, you have to restart it. And the shocker came a couple of months. The price was dropped to 19000 rs and storm 2 was introduced recently. Then I tried to get rid of this and resale value came as a shocker, not more than 12000 rs, even ebay couldn’t sell it. Now, having no choice, I am using it.

I would strongly recommend not to buy this phone. This is definitely not an iPhone competitor. BB guys, you got to think a lot to compete with them.
