Casually Formal

With spate of marriages in our family , it was one good reason to splurge on new clothes and the best thing is someone else will be footing the heavy bill (How often will we be blessed with that luxury?).But the worst part of shopping for marriages is Formal clothing , which I simply hate! Ties, blazers , suits , in muggy hot sultry weather can be suffocatively stifling and a big pain. For the same expensive price of suits etc I could have bought a new wardrobe of my favourite denims and T-shirts, what a colossal waste to spend on the drab staid formals!

The first conservative choice for suits in India is always Raymonds and since I already had a couple of them , I did not want to have another one of those and was looking for something which looked perfectly formal but had a very suave casual look! This was when BlackBerry caught my attention.

Colours:

There are some traditional colours in blazers which seems to be the perennial favourites of Indians: Dark Navy Blue , being the most cherished of all and I am sick of seeing this particular colour worn by everyone. So I consciously avoided buying this color and BB’s have a wide ranging of bewitching shades. When I talk of bewitching it doesnt mean purple or red , but shades of grey, charcoal ash etc , many variations of dark blues(but sorry folks , very less of navy blues!) and the most coveted of all , black.

Fabric texture and cut :

This is the most strikingly endearing part of this brand.

Fabric is ultra micro light, wrinkle free and is virtually weightless , reducing that feel of that extra-burden whenever I wear these formals! The fabric has more of a synthetic polysonic feel and has an extremely glazing smooth feel and a very comfy free-fall flow fitting especially the trousers.

Cut is smackingly smart and smoulderingly cool especially the blazers. Some blazers can be even worn on a casual outing to a party which is an added advantage unlike my other suits which I rarely touch if not for some formal outing .Some of the high end suits comes with a handwoven shirt and a double breasted sleeveless inner jacket .This jacket with a letherish feel coupled with a metallic steel zipper gives a totally different semi-formal look (when you wear it without a tie)and I have even tried this wearing seperately with a casual outfit .

Branding and durability:

Unlike Raymonds etc which I can vouch for when it comes to durability , this brand is quite new in Indian markets and when it comes to durability I am not so quite sure , as my suit is just a month and half old and 2 washes old, but so far so good , unlike what I read in other review which had big complaints on this front. But we should never gauge a brand by buying them from some unknown dubious outlets , as fake brands flourishes.(But this statement is nothing to counter the claims by other writer , it maybe quite true!)This brand is available at all big chains like Crossroads, Westside, shoppers Stop , Globus etc and I did read some good positive views about this product on net and by stores salesguy(But giving positive opinion is his job , right?)

Also , the pricing of BB’s suit makes me beleive that it will live up to my high expectations.Mine rather my dear uncle’s pocket was poor by 8.5K , and I saw the range of BB extending from 5k to 12K .So next time before buying if you still have doubts , just ask me , I will let you know how my suit is still holding on!
