Blaupunkt is the brand being boasted in the market as one of the leading German Brand. We too got carried away by the brand and bought a sound bar and went through a huge shock of non-existence of any support system for this brand altogether in India.
Yes, you read it right, to our shock we came to know that such a boasted German brand does not have any support center or even support system in India. Whatever they have all are non-functional including email, WhatsApp, toll-free number.
We bought "Blaupunkt Germany’s SBW08 220W Dolby Soundbar with 8 Inch Sub-woofer, 2.1 Channel Surround Sound System with HDMI-ARC, Optical, AUX, Bluetooth and Remote Control, Black" for the price of 10, 800 INR.
We were happy with purchase. It was working fine just for four months and then one fine day the remote stopped working, we thought the battery is out of energy and replaced with a new set of battery and tried switching on. It failed to switch on even when tried through the power switch in the sound bar. It was completely dead.
We tried their website for support information, it has a wrong email address and the mails sent bounced back meaning it is not even existent. Their so-called WhatsApp number(88600 22600) provided is non-functional.
Their toll free number 1-800-8434333 either never pickup, if we repeatedly call the number then someone pickup and give the same reply. "Your ticket is being processed, someone will do a reverse pickup of the soundbar for servicing. Once it reaches back to us we will either repair or send a replacement soon"
Days passed, weeks passed, nothing happened and soon we understood that their support system is all fake. We complained to the online portal where we bought it and explained how this brand is cheating customers without even honoring the warranty.
Fortunate, the online portal through which we bought the soundbar, we were using their service for more than a decade even when we were in US. Online portal is known for its honesty, excellent customer care and support even in India. Their support executives too tried contacting the Blaupunkt customer support but understood it is not functional, they registered a complaint and asked us to wait for a week and call back.
2, 3, 4 weeks passed, Blaupunkt never responded or picked up the soundbar for servicing. After four weeks, on the fifth week we called the online portal support and they agreed that Blaupunkt has not responded so far and provided an option for complete refund of the purchase amount and registered the pickup from their side and initiated the process.
As mentioned above, we were fortunate to buy that Soundbar through the honest online portal else with such pathetic brand like Blaupunkt we would have been in a trouble losing our money and peace of mind!
Stay away from such fake brands, which cheat their customers shamelessly. Do not carried away by the boasting of brands in media, only the customers who interacted with these sort of fake companies come to know about their cheating and true colors.
Shame on Blaupunkt for such cheating by not even having a functional warranty support. Customers better beware of such cheating foreign brands.
