The power of thinking without thinking.........

I always used to think that to think was the start of everything and makes the ‘im’possible……..Possible!!! But soon I have realized after coming across a book called ‘BLINK’ by Malcolm Gladwell……

It was the caption which caught my interest for buying it which says the power of thinking without thinking’ INTERESTING right it was an eye opener alright. Will try to explain my perception and interpretation of the book along with the excerpts from reviews which made me read it

It’s a book about rapid cognition, about the kind of thinking that happens in a blink of an eye. EVER SENSED “THE BLINK” OF AN EYE Nah who’s got all that time in the world for a thing which literally doesn’t take so much time that you can even comprehend it or even sense it and it is over for good or for bad no one knows it is happening at a much micro-level for us to analyse but there is something always happening the first thing you see in the morning the first person you come across our mind is at work it is comprehending everything mind you every small damn thing which goes through your sight.

Well, "Blink" is a book about those first two seconds of your comprehension of a particular thing,

And it stresses on this fact that these instant conclusions can prove to be really important and meaningful as compared to those done on proper analysis based on facts, figures, other experiences, etc

Personally, I feel that what has been followed is not always right…………..not always haste makes waste………not always you should look before you leap, stop and think……………………..there are somethings rather in everything we do……..we should apply the past but not just copy it as no two situations can be same or similar………..they are like the closest I can relate to is that with the subject of physics………I guess……….no set patterns or methods like that in mathematics but instead; physics is an application of what we learn in everything else……..a culmination of our knowledge……….that’s why I used to find it so difficult………….???!!!

NO Doubt that it is based on hard core psychology with illustrations in the form of stories in which “BLINK” proved to good or maybe bad also………..but the author’s effort is to make people distinguish this and apply the same. By this the author wants to change the way in which we see things……..which is a very interesting thing in itself.

The description that something `makes you think’ no longer means that something `fills your mind with novel thought, ’ but rather that something `makes you skeptical of established beliefs.’ The new meaning is useful, but some things out there just fill you with inspirational and amazing thoughts and those valuable things are what should receive the description. Malcolm Gladwell’s `Blink’ is one of those valuable things.

This is ironic, of course, because the whole book is dedicated to turning off thinking--the author aims to "think without thinking." Gladwell says that we may be "better off without thinking, " but what makes his book so fascinating is that it makes you wonder, speculate, and think.

Read the book, but enjoy how much it makes you think and it will be worth it.
