I just read the Book called the BLOODLINE again. It was written by Sidney Sheldon in 1988 and Published by Warner Books.
I have the paper back copy that has 464 pages. At the time I bought it I paid $10.00 CAD.
THE CHARACTERS:
Elizabeth Roffe is the main character.
Sam Roffe, (Elizabeth’s Fater), and President of Roffe & Sons, (Billion Dollar Company).
Rhys Williams, (he was born in Wales but works in the United State), is Sam Roth’s Assistant.
The three Cousins:
Anna Roffe, (who was married to Walter Gasser).
Helene Roffe, (who was married to Charles Marel).
Sir Alec Nicohos, (his Mother had been a Roffe).
Hamib Kafir, (who was born in Wales but lives in Istabul). He has a Wife and a lot of Mistress’ because he is a very handsom Man.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
The shares of the Company, Roffe & Sons, can only be owned by Family Members. Rhys Williams had been hired by Sam Roffee 9 years before the Book begins.
THE PLOT:
The Book begins in Istanbul. Hajib Kafir is sitting at his desk and Rhys Williams is in the office with him. He is very upset because he has just heard that Mr. Roffe has had a terrible accident.
Sam Roffe was Mountain climbing when the accident happened and because it happened very fast no one could reach him fast enough and he died!
Hajib Kafir leaves the room to leave Rhys to worry by himself. He is very upset because he didn’t think that Sam Roffe would die so young and he though he had a lot of time to do what he wanted to about the Company.
Rhy’s knows he must return and make arrangements for a Press Release, help with the Funeral arrangements and make sure the Company coninues to run smoothly.
We learn that he leaves all of his shares and money to Elizabeth. She becomes the President of the Company and now is one of the wealthiest People in the World.
All of a sudden the Company has a lot of problems. Someone has told a competitor about the Company and there are more mysterious accidents.
Elizabeth can’t decide who is behind this. Is it Rhy or a Cousin? Rhy does know a lot about the Buiness and she is leaning towards him being the culperate.
Suddenly someone tries to kill her by making it look like an accident.
The Book will also tell you about her Cousins and how they live.
HOW WILL IT END:
Why does a Welsh Man call himself Hajib Kafir? What connection does he have with Rhy? Why have there been so many accidents? Who is trying to gain control of the Company? I’ll never tell because I never tell the end of the story!
MY THOUGTHS:
Good Books like good Music never go out of style.
I like it that Sidney Sheldon cental charater is a stong Woman. There is a lot of Mystry and even a little Romance.
I find that some times older Mystry Books were well written and the plot made it harder to ’’quess at’’ what the ending might be.
Sheldon has written this Book very well and if you haven’t read it yet I highly recommend it to you.
