I ordered this product to be used on "Diwali"(26th October) . Was taking my chances. I was quite glad when I saw that seller has shipped the item on 24th from Blue Dart, since Delhi to Gurgaon would hardly take a day. I was hopeful and eagerly waiting for it today, 25th October. In evening when I checked the online status it said:
"Delivery Attempted-Consignee Premises Closed"
This is a residential address of an apartment and I was here all the time. Very much waiting for the consignment.
This kind of false claim on their part is highly unprofessional. Let me imagine what happened, who goes out for delivery a day before Diwali, write down premises closed on all packets and be happy. Brilliant plan, isn’t it?
I called the customer service(Ms. indrani) and she did not even apologize at the beginning. Was quite happy to give me a date 2 days ahead as if they are doing me a favor. Asked for anyone I can speak to so that I can pickup the packet myself but she did not give me any number. Asked for any senior person’s number to complain and she assured me she will look into the matter. LOL, no kidding. Hopeless case.
I had quite an impression about Blue Dart but it seems these guys are working hard to pull themselves down among other local C class courier.
Update(25th October 2011): At 8.30 PM 25th October, I received reply(to my email sent at 5:10PM) from Manager Customer Service who assured to look into this issue and get back to me. 26th is Diwali so let us see how it goes on 27th.
Update(26th October 2011): Just found out that there was another packet sent from Mumbai(AWB No: 44438897300) for which also the status is showing as premises closed. I am wondering if they delivered any packet at all on 25th(a day before diwali)
Update(27th October 2011): Called the customer service this morning. The lady told me that the staff at Gurgaon branch are not working today so she cannot commit about the delivery today. Let us see what happens on 28th.
Update(27th October 2011): At 2:00 PM I received packet from sent from Mumbai and at 2:30 PM from Delhi. When asked the courier guy told me that due to a day before Diwali someone might just have wrote the status by himself. This is what I was anticipating all the time.
Case closed. I hope Blue Dart learns a lesson in controlling their staff. An irresponsible act of one person brings shame to the whole company.
As far as customer support through email(telephonic support was still clueless) was concerned, it was up to the mark. I received prompt replies from Mr. Rohit Bobal, Manager Customer Service and he followed up the whole situation. Thanks Rohit for the support.
