You will not need to find charging locations.
As with any plug-in hybrid, you dont need to plug it in if you dont want to. The primary benefit of a PHEV is electric only driving for short commutes(Electricity is an order of magnitude cheaper than gas). In theory, you can go months(and thousands of miles) without using any gas.
However, the MPG benefits of plugging in are only good for a specific range, in the case of the 40e, that range is about 20 miles(13 miles on all-electric).
BMW states a combined MPG of around 55MPG. However, this assumes daily driving of around 40 miles, not long trips. If I had to guess, the 40es gas mileage over 1000 miles would be somewhere around 25-30 MPG, which is good for a large SUV, but not great for a hybrid.
so recommend you to go with it nice car
