My group also had a not so good experience here. By word of mouth and the seeing the crowd at the Gurudwara junction we also decided to try this joint on a weekend.
A good country ambience, as there was nothing specifically done which is required for a hotel. It was all Smokey, cramped and low roof rooms. With a wash out side from a plastic drum.
Still we thought, the food would be good and authentic Punjabi stuff , else this crowd would not have been there.
After 4 hours , our "number" came and to our disappointment, the food was horrible.
If you are thinking, putting lot of butter on everything is Punjabi food, then it is worth trying. All curries tasted the same as they use the same “masala” for all curries. We ordered all types of paranthas to taste. But we really could not make out what is what !!!!. The curd served is Britannia tin curd as it is. ( I could have bought and had it at home..hahahah) and the butter milk served is a direct pour from the Amul /nandini buttermilk packets. As we lived in the northern part of india for 14 years, we have some sence what is a punjabi food.
Kheer was ok . probably we don’t know the taste of it to appreciate it much.
Waiting for so long (3-4 hrs on a weekend) for an average food is not at all worth. There are much much better places in Bangalore to get a country ambience and good food with reasonable price. Like "Oye Amritsar "
