Bangalore: At the far end of MG road, opposite to Kid’s Kemp you would see a road going towards Ulsoor lake. Just few feet after the traffic intersection, one would find Gurudwara, standing tall led by a small road. Adjacent to Gurudwara is this Boddy Dhaba. Do not be amazed by the fact that this small dhaba runs without any advertisements or hoardings- just plain mouth-to-mouth information. I am not sure if this is open in the morning for lunch but is a great place to have early dinner after a small drink in nearby pubs on MG road. You can easily locate this place by people waiting outside for their table.
I visited this place last weekend after having heard fair deal of appreciation from my friends and office colleagues. The order is placed as soon as you enter along with your name. There are whole lot of parathas to choose from(aloo, mooli, methi and onion) and sabzees like aloo gobi, rajma, paneer masala. We were vegeteranians and hence cant comment on non-veg food there. While waiting one can have a huge glass of mattha. I anticipated home-made kind of lassi but one available is poured straight from Nandini sachet. The waiting period is approximately 30 mins on a weekend.
The hall itself gives a rural and rustic feeling, around 6 tables fitted efficiently. They place a huge bowl of pickles which itself is a temptation hard to resist.
We ordered Rajma, Paneer masala, Dhal and assorted parathas. The parathas are excellent and one tend to overeat with so much of ghee poured on it before it is served.
On an average a veg meal costs 600/- for 4 people. I did not venture into ordering any rice with the number of parathas I had consumed along with 2 matthas.
