I was not impressed. Really.
It is hard to believe its a Ridley scott movie. The usual mix of action, plot and emotions is purely missing
The plot slowly unfolds. Sorry very very very slowly unfolds. One of the slowest moving movies I ve seen in recent times
The insight into the movie shows that it could have been made a lot lot better.
The movie shifts tirelessly from showing the moves of politicians, spies, terrorists and the places where their impact is met
Thus the base of the operations(mid-east) and the places which they target(europe) are shown in a really rugged manner that command attention
The unmanned spy-aircraft and satellite views are really excellently shot.They give a whole new view of the situation unlike the previous ones like the scene in MI2.But they cant make the entire movie watchable.Come on man its almost three hours!
The differences between cool, live-this-second American top officials and the hard workin, highly trained, courteous and patriotic Field spies and soldiers are clearly indicated. But you are left with the doubt whether the real situation is just that.We all know what happened in prisons of Iraq. In Most part of the movie America is seldom blamed. But the truth as Russel Crowe says "nobody s innocent in this shit!"
The character of Leornardo is very well done. He has performed it to perfection. So has Russel Crowe.Mark Strong leaves a solid impression. But the one really wonders whether such an expert on the field like leornardo realises his job’s weaknesses only after his situation goes terribly dangerous.
the plot towards the end where our ppl come up with a clever plan and its consequences are well shown. But by that time, u are left feeling Frustrated.
Lets not dig deep into the plot I don wanna reveal it. I heard this movie was made from a novel. Sure thing. But am a movie goer and I don wanna see an entire novel unfold slowly and go on and on like a religious lecture. Where s the slickness? the Sudden twists in plots? mind blowing facts? and things in the movie u recollect on and on and on and tell yr friends?
Frankly the only thing that stayed in my mind after the movie was the names often used " al saleem.....haani...sadeeeki...ayeeesha.." god!
The dialogues form the pillar of the story supporting Leornardo s role. Most of them are good and have in depth meanings. But how long can u stand people talking over and over again?
U are constantly required to remind yourself of the dialogues to keep track of the plot. I thought that should be done by the screenplay.
What s the point of explaining everything scene by scene with dialogues in such a powerful media like cinema? U have the technology, the money, the people... What not?
There are really eye catching scenes in the movie here and there
1.*Blowing of bombs across europe
2.As said b4 satellite shots
3.Leornardo’s scenes with a nurse he fancies
4.Combat scenes and sudden chases here and there
5.a few Parts of the movie happening in Jordan
6.Last few scenes
But these scenes where u see the real Ridley Scott, are few and far in betwen
If u think am pissed off with the movie. NO. I was just disappointed with the way it had come out and ended.And yes of course I felt it didn’t have the makings of a real good movie
Am not a believer of the thumb rule that states that realistic movies can’t be made with racy pace and an interesting screenplay.And u all know there s nothing wrong with that.
Please don compare this movie with blood diamond, Enemy at the gates, etc., Their entire subject and presentation was different

People who select movies carefully and or ppl who get watch movies very rarely, wait for the next set of releases
