Bombay Blues was a place where people could hangout, but unfortunately not anymore. In the event you are hungry and want some real food do walk out, and find some better joint. The waiting outside the restaurant for a seat takes hours, the waiting inside the restaurant for a waiter to be attended to takes hours. They had a flexible system, such as any waiter is supposed to serve any client or any customer, however it has worked to the disadvantage, the waiter whom you once make an order with is no where to be found, and has soon forgotten the order, and waiter, whom you order your meals with, does not find it important enough to repeat the orders, and hence goofs up with the orders.
The restaurant is bright and sunny during the days and well lit at night. Its always a pleasure to spend hours over here as the place is always full of beautiful young men and woman. Though its noisy at times with children running around the whole place.
The management of the restaurant is very haughty. They seem to think that they are doing you a favour by letting you in. This is supposed to be their budget product restaurant.
The quality of the food lacks the freshness that every udipi will provide. The problem is that they have a common kitchen at a great distance from the restaurant and food is transported to the premises in the morning and the evening. The restaurant runs entirely on microwave ovens and refrigerators, there is very little cooking done at that place. The quantity of the food is too less, compared to the exorbitant prices.
Dont bother to complain about the food , they will be glad to point out that you are the first to complain about the food and that, that particular dish is very popular with the local clientele.
And at times they even dont accept credit cards, saying that the machine is out of order.
The general rule is either you take them for a ride or else they will take you for one.
They serve hot coffee and the drinks they serve are in really large glasses. The cold drinks are supposed to be unlimited, but the waiters are too reluctant to get the refills. Its as if the management will ask the waiter to bear the cost of each refill...
Great to be seen frequenting this place, dont spend your money there though. Go to a joint nearby to have food.
