When bombay blue the much hyped restaurant started in bangalore central people made a beeline because it was the newest fad...I wouldnt call myself more upitty from the crowd or anything cause I would have surely joined the bandwagon along with my friends had it not been for the fact that I had exams and hence was absolutely cash strapped (Im sure everyone understands how money drains out when you are nervous).
But after months, when I finally made there and spent quite a fair amount of sum on the food I was glad that I had been a late fool. if the meal was any indication it is definitely nothing worth dying for. And the price is exhorbitant...rather prohibitory.
The place is a multi-cuisine cafeteria at its best and a place to waste a goal of money at its worst. Im not saying that that the food is not palatable... but it is definitely not worth the fan fare that was created.
The place gives an ecclectic mix of continental, mediterranean, lop-sided oriental, latino and whimsical indian food...the pasta is good but not authentic italian, infact nothing in this restaurant is authentic, including the indian food and the sizzlers. they are sumptuous and definitely filling, you wouldnt be disappointed if its quantity that moves you, but I say isnt eating gourmet food an art in itself... why pay for bland chaat when you can get your hearts and stomachs full from a roadside vendor.
The restaurant also has an abject lack of beverages.Basic things like lassi is also missing... something unheard of in a restaurant serving desi food!
But the ambience is chic, the decor brilliant and tranquil. The service is something I wouldnt highly commend about...but in the end I think this eatery has met its fate..it had started to be a foodies paradise but all it ended up becoming was a place to eat in a shopping mall!
