The newly developing area of Thakur Village at Kandivali-E promises to be an excellent middle-income residential cum commercial area in the coming years. However this promise is threatened by the dismal quality of municipal services in the area. Waterworks in the area have led to digging up of substantial sections of the roads which are already in a miserable condition. These holes and trenches, as you might expect, have not been filled up for months now and have become makeshift garbage pits and even - hold your breath - public toilets for the construction workers.Repeated meetings with the local corporator have not borne any fruit. I am sure ours is a story repeated across many neighbourhoods in Mumbai. BMC - please wake up!Mumbai deserves better than this.
