I am frequent visitor to Mumbai on my onsite assignments from Wipro and basically, I am from AP and working in Bangalore.
I actually like Mumbai in many ways but one. I found that spitting on the streets and public places is quite common in Mumbai (Mumbaiites, pardon me if I am wrong). This city is the commercial capital of India and will be visited by different nationals. This obviously to be the best of all metros. The impression that the international community gets on the city would match with mine I feel. I wonder why the public are still tolerant on this issue. The issue may be because of various reasons like, consumption of Gutka or other tobacco products. Cant we do something for the stoppage of this public spitting?
This may be a common problem all over India. But because Mumbai has huge population and high number of visitors like me, who would come in every day, the municipality/government should look into this seriously.
