BMC feels that their entire revenue collection depends on octroi collection. It is not untrue.
I need not tel as it is known to everybody that real cess collection can be much higher than what is collected. It is very much surprizing that although known to everyone, no authority does anything to stop this pilferage.
The better way is to stop the octroi collection as done by Navi Mumbai. In Thane and Mumbai there is lot of trouble due to octroi at that position roads are blocked, even it is troublesome for ordinary people.
SERIOUSLY, SIMPLIFICATION IS SOLICITED in the public interest at large.
