Police V/S Public

Police V/S Public

Police is the civil force responsible for maintaining law and order in the society, but in todays scenario does the word POLICE convey this meaning to the society and the general public at large??? Definately not history speaks out this fact, it speaks about the cruelty of the Police.

There have being infinite examples wherein the police under politicial pressures file faulty FIRs and the witness are being manipulated.

Let me briefly take one and all through the laws in various countries likes Austriala and New Zealand wherein the name of the witnesses are not disclosed thereby maintaining the privacy of the witnesses. But in India we dont have any such laws. Such initiatives have to be taken by the Law-Makers but when the tickets are given to the criminals who will pass such Legislations????

Even today when a person is brutually murdered in public how many of us come forward and help in imparting justice. Not a single person ! who has to be blamed for such a situation? Yes , no second thoughts the public at large has lost faith trust in the Police. It is high time that the Police department wakes up and upholds justice.

In the past we have seen the Sikh riots in 1984 wherein atleast 3000 innocent people were killed and the witnesses then turned hostile and just plainly said a MOB ATTACKED !! Two decades have just passed away but where is the justice/conviction???

Everyone talks about witnesses getting hostile the Zaheera Sheikh case who is well known for her U turn and getting hostile in the Best Bakery case where 14 people were burnt. Does police investigation needs to be questioned here?

The best lawyers are in favour of the guilty/accussed. Police profession is no more a noble profession. The outcome is that Society is taking law into its own hands. This is exactly whats happening in Nagpur.

To conclude the POLICE needs to wake and reassure the society that POLICE still is the civil force responsible for maintaining law and order in the society.
