From a small little dainty place to a happening crowded Adda, this has come a long way Bong Baby !
This afternoon, we were driving like crazy and then around lunch hour decided to park ourselves here, in the hope that if this little place will be full we will have many other options next door as well. But we were lucky to get a table immidiately.
We ordered a Veg Roll to share to start with Fresh Lime Soda Sweet n Salt.
1-Veg Roll at Rs 100/ VERY GOOD
served well wrapped, hot, juicy stuffing, tasteful.
2-Beverage at Rs 60/
Served cold, refreshing GOOD
in a plastic tumbler NOT GOOD
1-Kosha Mangsho at Rs 420/
very small portion, no garnish NOT GOOD
decent taste, all three pieces were bones only and a potato GOOD
2-Lacha paratha at Rs 35/ GOOD
normal tawa paratha, oily, seemed reheated, lachhas not separated.NOT GOOD
1-Aloor Dom at Rs 220/ VERY GOOD
portion size small, no garnish
1-Kochori Matter( 4pcs) at Rs 200/ GOOD
tasty, hot, over priced.
1-Mishti Doi at Rs 60/ NOT GOOD
nothing unusual, not fresh, over sweet, added colour, serves in preset disposable plastic small cup.
Good service, efficient, smiling waiters, they speak English Hindi and Bangla so its nice feel to be associated with servers who can communicate well.
Unfortunately, three-fourth way through our meal we had an umwanted visitor crawl out from under the table right next to Missus’ plate, I smacked it with my large spoon and pushed it off the table. The waiter saw but was not bothered nor apologetic. We paid and moved, and I made it a point to tell the person at the counter on entrance that everything else was good except that they need peat control urgently. Even he showed as if he cares two hoots. The owner was standing in hearing distance and I said just loud enough for him to hear but he showed no concern either. Perhaps its a Kolkattan way of life, Live and Let Live.
Total bill for two Rs 1250 ( incl of taxes)
