Bon South came highly recommended by a colleague known to be a foodie. Went over on a Sunday afternoon after booking a table earlier in the morning. Was not dissapointed!
Options for lunch on a Sunday on offer were brunch buffet(@Rs. 595+ taxes) or a lunch buffet(@Rs. 295+ taxes). The brunch had unlimited drinks on offer too. We took the lunch buffet option.
Ambience was good, music played was from the 80s that we like, comfortable chairs, and staff were keen to serve our demands. We had three kids in our group who dont eat out very well, at least the regular food.:) It was agreed that there would be no full charge for them, which was very nice of them.
Food was spicy for some; managable for others. Dishes were from all over South India. One complaint from some in our group was that todays buffet seemed to be Kerala oriented - they felt many of the dishes were cooked in coconut oil, which is typical of Kerala. Saving the best for the last, Bon Souths "payasam"(south indian sweet made from rice noodles) was as good as home made - the best compliment that can be paid to the restaurant.
Reservations may be required if you do not like to wait outside for your turn. Bon appetite!
