Boogie Woogie has been in Sony Channel for quite some time. The program is hosted by Javed Jaffery, Ravi Behl & Naved Jaffery. The Greatest plus about these trio is that they have commendable knowledge to various dance forms and have great sense of humour. Each episode has some notable guests from film or dancing fraternity
The program has it is main intention in promoting dancing talent across the country and the world. They have done international editions as well, which have had a successful run.
Apart from individual dancing, they have also organised the group dancing competitions. It brings in various dance groups or troupes into one stage. The recent edition named Gang War has roped in talented groups. The last episode telecast on Friday at the U.A.E. had fantastic five troupes. Each had a distinct dance style and fantastic choreography. From Vande Mataram, Mickel Jackson, humorous tamil song presentation to Durga pooja. The troupe from Pune who presented the Matha Vandana and the group who presented "Vetti Madithukatu" were selected to the next stage. These trios and the guest Jackie Shroff must have had a real tough time to choose from them. I was really surprised to know that none of them who had presented tamil film song knew tamil nor had seen the original film dance. Yet it was amazing that the choreography represented the meaning of song ( I being a tamilian) and I also could nt control the laughter just as those who were there in the live audience. Kudos to them.
Kudos to the trio and Sony.
