My Experience: I got introduced to bookmyshow.com app by a friend who I saw seamlessly used this app in the afternoon to book tickets for an evening show. I totally loved the idea, of sitting in the comforts of your home or office and booking a ticket. No need to run early to the theatre as "good" seats will be taken!
I downloaded the app, which has a very friendly and easy UI. The movies present in your city are displayed alongwith the movie theatres. They also help in narrowing down the city to east, west, north or south sections. So you pretty much are sorted out in selecting the theatre. The movies are listed according to their release dates and also user ratings. Once you finalise the movie and the theatre, the app then takes you to the timings screen and available seats in that hall. I’m in love with the fact that I can select whatever seat I wish to, and not depend on the booking agent to get me a good seat! The seat arrangement and its proximity to the screen is seen. Once selected, the app takes you to the payment gateway. Once payment is done, the tickets are delivered via SMS to you. But at the movie theatre, you need to take a paper printout at the online booking counters.
