In April, I booked two tickets for a movie in Cinepolis, Bangalore. The transation was unsuccessful and the tickets did not get booked. However, my debit card was debited with the ticket amount. Unlike other e-commerce sites, I did not receive any notification about the unsuccessful transcation.
I immediately called up the Customer Service who informed me that ticket has not been booked and also stated that the money has not been received by them. It must be still with my bank and I should follow up with them.
I called up my bank where I was told that the transation was approved from their side and they no longer have control over it and the payment has been made to the vendor. Now I am clueless as to who should I follow up with and have finally given up. The worst part is that I have no proof of an unsuccessful transation to show to either parties.
Bookmyshow is used widely for movie ticket bookings. The least they can do is come up with a secure payment system so the customers know who is answerable when things go wrong.
