It is very unfair from BookMyShow to charge huge handling fee. They get a commission from movie theatres and their clientele has increased a lot in the last few years.Still they continue charging a lot of money on handling fee
Take the case of irctc. They charge Rs. 20 as reservation fee. Whether I book 1 ticket or 6 tickets I end up paying only Rs.20 .
Now let us take the case of bookmyshow
Banglore - 6 tickets - Internet+handling fee 168.54
Hyderabad - 6 tickets - Internet+handling fee 40.44 payment gateway charges 63.12
Chennai - 6 tickets - Internet+handling fee 202.26
I called them up to complain that they should be charging per transaction and not per ticket.They did not give a convincing answer. They told payment gateway charges in case of Hyd was a government regulation.
In cities like Banglore where there is no regulation on the maximum ticket price, a customer will end up paying lots of money to watch a movie! It is time we hope we get a competitor for bookmyshow
