Be Aware: You cannot cancel your confirmed tickets

I was impressed with the following:

  • Neatly designed website

  • Good aggregator of all the events and shows

  • Very responsive service to the feedback/suggestions.

I am sorely disappointed with the following:

  • You just cannot cancel the tickets of shows that you have booked on this site for movies

  • Normally any consumer would intuitively assume or expect that there would be a provision to either modify or cancel the bookings with some transaction costs and terms much as it is in any other online booking of airline tickets or so

  • I am appalled to note that there is nothing of such provision; nor would they be interested to change this practice

  • Their FAQ informs that" once that booking is made, government deems it as sold and cannot be cancelled". Its not the government or any other agency but their(in)ability to incorporate this provision.

I did suggest them to openly, boldly highlight this Cancellation norm on their first page itself so that the consumer can make the most informed choice; and also to highlight at the bottom of the booking page just before the proceeding to payout; so that the consumer make a final choice with this clarity.

Its sad that one cannot cancel. However when contacted on their FB, Phone and email, I came to know that:

  • one can transfer the tickets to someone else: not sure about the method though

  • or go to the movie hall and ask the movie theater to sell your tickets and provide you the redemption (which is circuitous); basically they don’t want to take any responsibility for cancellation or modifications.

Nor is their FAQ has the above flexibility.

In India, consumers need to be empowered to make most informed choices and also responsiveness.alas.we are continue to be taken for a ride due to our implicit trust and confidence in such platforms.nothing is an exception.unfortunately.every brand has its own queer practices.only to further their interests but not the consumers basic comfort and experience.notwithstanding their professed corporate philosophies.well.we should move on.
