I am not quite sure where to begin, bookmyshow is quite 3rd grade e-commerce site with none of the basic payment security in place which is paramount to any of e-commerce site. This is not the first time I have to undergo severe headache due to online payment system + customer service which is quite horrible.
1st Story (dec 2009)
I booked my show for Avatar in one of the theatre for one of the afternoon show in december......transation went fine on the day of the show. Got a call from one of personnel from the Theatre that show got cancelled. Later I found out it was never cancelled. After pretty hot conversations with the Theatre Manager and BookmyShow staff I was assured that the money would be returned to my account. Its May now.
I am still waiting. 400 is not a big amount for me but it does hurt when you are cheated like this and frustrating lies..I did not learn my lesson, thought it might be one off incident .....
2nd time ... it happened again... (Mar 2010)
Tried booking my show online again stuck after payment was release online from the Bank. Got a crap message that some technical issue so transaction did not go through...even though amount was debited from the account.. Again shitty customer service was on roll with their lame excuses and false promises. Money gone again. No roll back of the transaction ever happened.
It happened again now (20-May-2010).........
Tried booking the show again (Ghajini effect....short term memory loss.....and pressure from Family)......ICICI Bank honoured the trasaction and later on was stuck at Bookmyshow end. Voila now I found the trasaction has happened 10 times and arnd 4000 Rs got debited from my amount.. So big day tomorrow, have to call Customer Service again. I don’t know if I can ever trasact confidently online on Bookmyshow again.
Hopefully it will help in avoiding similar things to happen to you guys..
I know its convenient and easy....but beware, there might be some cookie which may crumble your bank balance because I don’t believe Bookmyshow has any control over the advertising or safety of your online bank transaction.
