: well the way this movie is attracting bad reviews , I feel that the team who made and acted in this movie will be labelled as criminals and hanged till death.
but to tell you the truth, kaizad gustad is a director known to make whacky, loony, crazy movies( watch his bombay boys that was well acclaimed).
Back to Boom - the movie deals with 3 underworld crazy dons with their own habits and quirks who want the diamonds back that some model (working for them)loses in a fashion show. they go after the 3 models who had a fight with the model carrying the diamonds. and then how the 3 girls have to work and get back the diamonds forms the whole story.
Lets take the movie step by step -
Story - 3 models stuck in a problem for no fault of theirs and coming out winners over 3 underworld dons. thats the basic story and sounds quite good.
Actors - Amitabh as Bade miyan has created a big problem for Amitabh the per
son ( people asking him to apologise to the nation) . his character has traits of robbing and reading comics , and he is quite good in whatever scenes and scope that his role has offered.
Jackie as chote miyan had the meatiest role among the 3 dons and he has revelled in playing this character. ( druggie , pyscho don fond of blowjobs)
Gulshan grover has limited role and is good
The 3 models - katrina( looks gorgeous acts bad) madhu sapre (looks horrible acts worse and padma lakshmi (looks ok acts ?? ) are so-so.
Seema biswas seems to revel playing pyscho maids in all her movies. she is adequate.
Zeenat Aman actually looks sexier than the 3 younger models.
javed jaffery as boom shanker is kewl , lewd , cheap and watchable . his performance according to me is the highlight of the movie.
The Music - background score is terrific and the soundtrack is absolutely whacky and fun.
The direction and cinematography - direction looks disjointed but is not and cinematography is first class.
so summing it up.......... Boom is watchable. and people who think that it is the worst movie of the year should think again.
and whats this nonsense about amitabh having to apaologise to the nation just for having worked in a movie where there is lots of skin display, cheap gestures and dialougue. if people think he has to apologise , he better apologise for his earlier movies potraying him as an angry young man taking law in his hands and advocating voilence.
Enough is enough.... watch boom as a timepass movie and you will enjoy it. dont read the reviews of the media and so called critics and go with pre concieved notions about the movie.
In the end , I think the movie is not accepted because the 3 models outsmart the 3 big dons and this is what the indian audience read male audience dint wanna see. thats my opinion.
