My Fully Automatic Front Loading Washing Machine, whenever was being switched on, would force for an MCB trip. The time was inconsistent. Sometime, immediately on start, at times after 5 minutes of operations or could even be after 25 minutes. After getting the electrical voltage and earthing checked by a certified electrician, I had lodged a complaint with Bosch to get the machine checked for any corrective measures.
The good thing about Bosch customer care is they work Mon-Sat which means if, as a customer, get stuck on Saturday late evening, you need to curse yourself till Monday when you would again hear from the customer care agent of a 48 Hours time before anyone attends.
Now the so call engineer visits my place. First thing he does is tries to unscrew the Drain Outlet cap with his Pliers and breaks it. On asking, he posed to be quite cool in answering "How does it matter? The cap would be screwed in and there wouldn’t be any leakage." Just judge the bloody attitude of the visiting engineer.
Next, without even opening or operating the machine, his observations came to a conclusion. Says "The PCB of the machine and Drum are faulty. Total cost of replacement would be around Rs.11, 400/-".
On asking, how could the PCB be faulty, looks were given as if "How could you question a NASA certified engineer". Gets onto filling the visit charge receipt of Rs.800/- and walks away without a solution.
Next day another Charlie from the same outfit, claims to be senior, calls and asks about my concurrence for replacement of Drum and PCB.
These guys are all nuts and are only into replacement rather than troubleshooting. Like Honda, Ford and other automobile Service Centers.
In my opinion for a longer peace of mind, one should avoid buying Bosch products and focus on alternate brands where the products are at par but post sales service is way way much better. Initially, such alternate brands would also come a couple of 1000/- less and support is quite prompt and satisfactory.
Advertising "German Engineered" and other crap is just nuisance. Gone are those days of Germany. Gone is Hitler.
A big NO to Bosch products. I have had similar experience with my Bosch 510 Litres Double Door Refrigerator too. Same story.
An Update:
Yesterday an Engineer(Bosch Certified) visited and concluded with all his expertise that the cost of repair of the Washing Machine would be around Rs.17, 500/- when good quality reputed products are available with 2 years warranty within Rs.24, 000/-. Are these guys insane or are they thinking of extracting the fat salaries of office bearers by fooling customers over and over again?
