Review for Bosch WAK20160IN washing machine
My previous experience with washing machine was on a top loader semiautomatic type and I was not satisfied with the wash quality and had given up on them.
An ardent fan of hand washing cloths, I finally succumbed to the charms of washing machine after I ended up doing laundry more often than my usual frequency. With Laundry chores taking too much of my "precious" time, I decided to do a mini PhD on washing machines.
Semi automatic top loaders were ruled out as I had experienced them first-hand and not happy.
So this time, I decided to give the front loaders a try.
Unlike top loaders which fill up a tub during wash cycle, Front loading washing machines just manage to keep the cloths wet during wash cycle and use very less water.
also the washing action in a horizontal drum results in cloths tumbling which results in more mechanical agitation.
Instead of going for a low cost one, and getting disappointed again, I decided to buy the best one in town.
The Bosch WAK20160IN looked good at under 30K(after some credit card discounts)
This Mercedes of a washing machine is solidly built weighing 70 Kgs.
Pros:
Solid build quality with heavy gauge aluminum/steel.
No vibrations or moving around in all wash cycles(only a strong person can move it around)
Easy to use; no complicated choices; single dial selects the program. you can tweak it to change spin speed and water consumption.
Useful 15/30 minute wash cycle for everyday washing before we hurry up to office.
Good clean looks.
Runs very quite.
Uses less water(well this is a subjective point, uses approximately 21 liters of water for a half load on cold cotton program)
Cons:
Manual does not contain any information on the size of adapter needed to hook to the tap. not a problem if you wait for installation to be done by "professional" plumbers, but for a DIY person like me, its a inconvenient thing. I had to take actual measurements and visit local hardware store and "design" a size converter.
Installation person arrived only after I raised a "complaint" a week after delivery regarding installation. Not wanting to hand wash cloths after having paid 30K Rs, I installed it myself the next day of delivery.
In all, a very good Washing Machine.
