BOUNTY : a chocolate in a sooting light blue coloured pack and a broken shell of coconut as its brand image.
Bounty , a coconut based chocolate and a product of Master Foods US is among the best selling brands worldwide. (Incidently , Kit Kat is the biggest chocolate brand of the world).
It targets the segment that like filled chocolates and dont mind more of sweetness, Owing to its coconutty flavour , its typically related to islands , sea and lagoons in its promotional campaigns. The current theme for its promotion going on is Bounty Holiday. Its more of a leisure product rather than take a break/energy bar/ gift product which most of the chocolates are positioned as.
I have tried this chocolate myself and with the knowledge of consuming various kinds of chocolates , I would say that it would be loved by people in our subcontinent. I am not sure whether I have seen this in the streets of India and even in the superstores , but here in kuwait and the gulf , its a household name. (Incidently the parent brand holds more than 40% of the market share in gulf whereas cadburys stands at less than 20%).
Bounty also is among the biggest selling SKUs just behind the world famous energy bar SNICKERS in Kuwait.
Eeeeeeeeks , I suddenly realised that I have given more input on the branding and market stand of Bounty rather than its taste and overall feel.
So here I go ....
Its a great product and you can sense the freshness of coconut in it. Its quite unlike most of chocolates I have tried (including international brands) and is a nice blend of coconut with cocoa.
Definitely worth a try. Not very expensive like lot of swiss chocolates. its not a delicacy chocolate for sure. Check out your nearby duty free store whenever you fly , guess you will surely get it there.
