Boxing is an indoor sport (and I use the word sport loosely), where two people get in a roped off ring and plummet the heck out of each other.
Boxing is a violent sport and I do not see what enjoyment anyone gets out of watching two people beat each other up.
Boxing is in the same arena as wrestling, although I doubt very seriously where the same amount and extent of injuries have been substained to the head.
In boxing, two people put on boxing gloves, the gloves are to protect the hands from getting broken, they put in a mouth piece to protect their teeth. They use nothing to protect their heads or their eyes.
A good body punch or uppercut is all it takes to take someone down. The idea is to knock someone down for the count. If they do not get back up off the mat before the count is done, the opponent is the winner.
One famous boxer is Mike Tyson, he was not satisfied with hurting his opponent with his gloves so he bit part of his ear off. Not all boxers are mentally ill, he is.
I use to watch boxing and wrestling when I was a little girl, I do not see the attraction of it at all. It is about the same as going to a cock fight or chasing an ambulance.
