In my experience of Shopping at different places I havent ever experienced a poor shopping place like Brand factory Marathalli. Since we had to purchase collectively we planned to go to this complex. On reaching BF, the first irritating thing was the wallet parking they offer. I dont know wer they actually park. But I had to hand over the keys to them. And we paid them Rs.50 for parking which was told as refundable when any product is being purchased in BF.
We then moved on to the Shoes mart where every product has a 50% OFF sale and selected product with 25% OFF. I normally do not believe on such discounts however my husband wanted me to buy a Shoes for himself and a pair for me. We got them for Rs.550 and Rs.425(after discount). Later we went to the mens section and bought socks which was Rs.125. Though socks were very expensive we thought it would be worth to buy.
Thats all we wanted for that days shopping. We then moved to the counter and was surprised to see every product has a total VAT of Rs.80. I was confused. on which aspect they calculated the VAT. Is it 4% or 8%.? My footware was actually mentioned Rs.950 on tag which after discount Rs.425. For those I had to pay Rs.495 with VAT. I believe the actual price cant be more than Rs.400. I very well understood I had been cheated. Though we enquired, since it was a long queue he was not ready to reply. Cursing my husband we came down to pick our car.
We struck in the rain outside for sometimes then went inside the complex again. We waited for more than 20 minutes for the car to come. To my surprise the car was brought and was completly ruined by mud. They did not care to give us a reply where they had parked. Atlast we showed our car pass and claimed Rs.50 car parking fee from them. But they told us to collect it from the counter inside. This is really the worst part of our shopping in BF. Since I had been scolding my husband for making an expensive shopping which wsa unplanned, he then decided to take the money from the counter. He went inside and came after another 20 minutes. While purchasing the product itself we asked the counter guy wat about car parking fee. He was reluctant to reply and reffered us to ask the wallet parking counter. Atlast he took the money back and had a escape from BF.
Bitter experience we had. To be noted, poor parking facility. UnOrganised parking fee procedure. Unclear VAT on products. Poor service.
