Theres a third way...do it yourself !!

Arright buddies, now that you have read the title, I guess you all must be thinking that this is gonna turn out to be another one of those  Do It Yourself tutorials.but sorry.its not!

The question of branded vs assembled dogs each and every computer user regardless of whether hes a novice or a proper computer professional, like me(I wish!). Well.if you are a complete novice, meaning you cannot distinguish a hard disk from a hard sectored disk, then I believe you’ve really got a big problem on your hands.

The major major factor that most branded computer makers seem to put forward is reliability. Well, to a limit, that argument is really true. I mean that each and every machine is tested to optimal levels and the components too are selected only after careful testing for their compatibility and reliability. What that mean is that you get a thoroughly tested and evaluated machine at your doorstep. But, after that moment, the poor PC is in your merciless hands. What that means is that absolutely no level of testing is gonna save a computer from misuse. Keep that point in mind. Theres no use saying you got a branded PC and so it wont bust. Ha ha, believe me, when a computer goes bust, it really does the job much more efficiently than any other thing that it can ever do!

One more thing you gotta know is that the designs on the branded comps are really slick nd likeable. But really, knowing all these MNCs, don’t expect them to pay for that! Obviously, you are the bakra.

A branded PC comes at anything ranging from 10 to 25, 000 more than your assembled PC, depending on the brand and the configuration. Now, that really is a great deal of money! That is one of the factors in favour of the humble assembled PC. You can get an assembled PC for much less and also, they are generally delivered quicker.

One more point is that when you are buying an assembled one, you can get exactly the things that you want and also the brands that you prefer. But, this is particularly useful when you have some knowledge of computers! If you have no idea, then a Samsung is just as good as a Seagate, as is a Quantum( for the dumbos.I’m talking about hard disk brands here!). Also, you wouldn’t have an inkling of what a soundcard does and what brand you oughtta prefer. YOu then end up relying on the assembler’s advice.and then, he can take you for quite a rollercoaster of a ride. So, BEWARE!

When it comes to after sales service, every dealer or assembler will absolutely go head over heels tryin to convince you that he’ll be there within moments of your calling him. ut hey.regardless of who he is or what he does.He is absolutely not gonna do that. Believe me, every goddamn computer dealer is the same. The moment you give him the check(Hey.the Americans spell it this way.my spelling doesn’t suck), that very moment, he forgets all commitments and you’ll be so wary of calling him up every time your computer refuses to start, that you are bound to have an argument atleast once in the’one-year-warranty’ period. Tat, my friends, is the golden rule of computer deals!

So.in the end of this oh-so comprehensive essay, I will leave the final decision to yourself. You wouldn’t expect me to do the hard job for you, would you?(Of course.if you pay me.hmmm).

P.s: What did I do? I took the middle way. I bought a Zenith.MNC quality, Indian price!

P.P.S: I am absolutely rollin’ on the floor laugin’ coz I know most of you dunno the difference between the hard & hard-sectored disks!

Ha ha ha ha!
