Go For IT....

Branded Vs. Assembled is a very crucial question in fact. Although it is very simple and easy to decide which one to go for. All depends on what is the purpose of buying a PC. If you ask me an assembled computer is as good as a branded computer provided you buy it from a genuine buyer or you are a bit technical so that he can’t cheat you easily.

The assembled computer market is spoiled off and has a great degree of negative publicity just because of the reason that to assemble a pc it hardly take 15 min. provided you have all the parts with you. Above all it doses not require any technicality also. And that’s the reason that today you find computer assembling vendor in every 10 doors you will knock. But when it comes to trouble shooting and service they fail to provide. Therefore by the word of mouth not many want to buy assembled.

What you need to understand is the primary components of a PC that decides its cost and working as well.

CPU

RAM

HDD(Hard Disk Drive)

Monitor

Multimedia

CPU indeed is the processor and should be the fastest if you want to be in touch with the latest in IT trends. But that’s what I started the review with, “Why are you buying a PC?”. If you are merely buying it for surfing internet or playing games and stuff’s(basically end-user work) then even a P-III processor will do the job quite well. But in case you need to make some development work on your computer then you should nearly be close to a PIV in GHZ.

RAM remains the most essential component of your computer. Bcuz even if you buy a high-speed CPU but with a less amount of RAM then you will not get the actual speed. Say for eg.

P-III With xMB of RAM= y Speed

P-IV With xMB of RAM= y+2 Speed

P-IV with x+xMB of RAM= y2 Speed.

Hard disk of course will hold the entire data and information in the computer so go for the highest capacity of hard disk. You never know what all you will dump on the disk in future.

Monitor must be digital and something like 17” in size. Many of the company’s sell monitors with the term Digital but they are not actually and the same applies to TV’s also. While reading this review if you place your eyes a bit higher your monitor, do u notice some flickering or shaking on the monitor screen if yes then it is not a digital monitor. In fact all monitors those have manual knobs to control the brightness and contrast are non-digital. And all those which have buttons menu driven are digital. But as I said not all of them can be.

Multimedia kit will mean a sound card, CD-rom drive and a set of speakers. Indeed is must today, when you surf net and listen to music etc.

These are the primary requirements to be met for a computer rest all is immaterial. I mean you can buy whatever fancy looking keyboard or mouse etc. the bests configuration could consist of.

A P-IV processor(Intel)

512MB RAM    (Sony)

40GB HDD  (Seagate)

17”monitor(LG/Samsung)

Multimedia kit(Creative)

These combinations have been best tested in the industry and are most compatible. An assembled vendor will give you a 1yr on-site warranty also, depending on the terms you agree upon. And above all you can ask him for whatever software you want on your machine. Although all of this will be pirated or illegal. But who buys legal software for PC at home. The price of mere licensed windows and msoffice the basic software’s on each machine is more than the price of a computer. So if you are ready to take this up then go ahead.
