Nobody would do a weird thing and buy from Mumbai when he is based in Pune. However being a stingy person, I am a bit pricing sensitive. Also I want to have the best stuff available at the least price.
Following are the rates, which I have got from 2 of the main dealers in pune and 1 small dealer in Mumbai.
On the overall, not much difference in the prices between the 2 pune dealers. The prices were however 10%-15% less expensive than the lowest priced branded PC like Samsung, which also has a less configuration.
I have only put the prices of the peripherals with which you may really be able to compare. The make and brand are the same.

I checked https://Bazee.com and found that Bazee rates were higher than those above.
My conclusion was:
It makes it really worthwhile to buy from a Mumbai guy. If you are not looking for service then buy from a known computer guy who has a good reputation.
In case you wish to pay octroi, you may do so which will be 3% and things would still be cheap from Mumbai.
By the way do the Pune dealers pay octroi? From what I have heard from a dealer - No.
Please note this is what I have investigated and found out.
I am also buying the Motherboard/CPU?RAM.Hard DISK from Mumbai. This will save me approximately 5000/- Rs. which is a lot for me.
Please do not use the prices for reference, since over time prices change drastically. Also what I am trying to point out is that Mumbai prices are cheaper then Pune, hence if you want to buy, buy from a trusted Mumbai dealer, which may be difficult.
Hence you can buy from Pune itself, but note that he is selling you the stuff at a higher price than he should be selling you. But then that business.or fleecing.?
