The Beast is Back!! And what a come-back this is!!

This was the first Iron Maiden album I ever listened to and it changed the way I listen to music forever. Every album that I ever listen to invariable gets compared to this one and so far, nothing has been able to surpass this. If you are into Heavy Metal, then you have definitely heard of Iron Maiden. This album is Iron Maiden’s 12th album since they released their first one in 1980. These guys are veterans who stubbornly stick to the style of music they help invent and don’t sell-out to popular trends. That in my opinion is a virtue-the sign of winners-who believe in what they think is right and stick to it no matter what.

Brave New World marked the long awaited return of vocalist Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith to the band. The expectations of the new album were incredibly high and most fans were afraid that the band would not deliver. How wrong they were!! Iron Maiden not only met the expectations but even surpassed them, earning themselves a permanent place in Heavy Metal history!

All the songs in this album feature the trademark (insightful, thought-provoking, intelligent, unmatched and often based on historic events, poetry, literature, human values and stuff) Maiden lyrics, beautiful, unbelievable vocals (of Bruce Dickinson), amazing guitar riffs and beautiful melodies. These guys have aged to near-perfection like old wine.

The more they age, the better they get. Also, the quality of musicianship is top-notch (Just listen to Nicko’s drums on ’’Dream of Mirrors’’ proving my argument that this is an ensemble of some of the best musicians in the world.

I could have made an attempt to describe each song and what makes it great, but by doing so, I will not be able to do justice to the music. Any endeavors to describe the music in words will be futile. There is only one way to know what this is all about and that is to listen to the music yourself. Nothing else will suffice. For Rs. 400 a CD, you will be the proud owner of some of the best music ever created.

Up The Irons!!
