First of all the address is wrong. The office of the consulate of Brazil is now situated on 11th floor of Free Press Journal Bldg in Nariman Point.
When entering consulates/embassies, I do understand the need for heightened security and I appreciate it because it is for our own good. However, our own Indians who are employees there treat us with disrespect and hatred, as if we are all terrorists.
Our personal bad experience was at the Consulate of Brazil. My husband had to urgently leave for Brazil on business. The clerk at the receptionist table as well as the clerk woman who accepted the form was terribly rude.
When we explained the exceptional circumstances and the need for issuing the visa urgently, also having given letters of recommendation and invitation to Brazil, she had the audacity to say in hindi "hanh, hanh, malum hai, sab ko ek din baap banana padta hai !" and threw back the letters of recommendation at us. She showed as if she was extremely busy when in fact there was no one else around. The other staff member was sitting and reading a novel.
We asked for an appointment with the Consul. She said he will come in 1 hour. We waited outside in the lift lobby. After an hour we went in and asked again, and were told he is not coming today.
Then we sought a special appointment with the Brazilian Vice Consul and were asked to return at noon. This meeting turned out to be very helpful. He was a real gentleman and went out of his way to help us.The point I am trying to make is that consulate staff especially Indians need to undergo a course in human relations.
I am sure if your corporate travel agent bloggers too read this then they will think twice about promoting those countries as tourist attractions. If at the first step of obtaining a visa for such a country is so demeaning, what experience awaits us in those countries ? Who will want to go to Brazil anyway ?
