The Brethren - John Grisham

Hi Friends,

Finished another book yesterday and thought of telling you about that.

Another Bestseller from the store of John Grisham, a typical example of ’’Kings are made and not born’’.

Two parallel running stories, which doom to meet on their ways.

Firstly it is about Thee Convicted Judges passing time inside the prison walls with no hopes of getting out alive, Who take care of all the petty problems of their inmates inside the prison. They call themselves ’’The Brethren’’. Their decision is final and they do really charge for their services, this part will make you laugh out loud as it is very well written and explained as they have their Court Sessions.

The kind of dresses they wear and the way they share the responsibilities, they have very good moneymaking plan by blackmailing innocent people. They do advertise some of their beautiful inmates on magazines and look for people who have interest in Gay Relationships, they deal through Post Box Numbers so as never to get caught through, their loyal Lawyer who is paid a hefty sum for keeping their secret works with them closely to make the whole thing work.

Everybody is minting money till they hit a wrong man, the man who is going to be the next President of the United States.

Secondly it?s about a Senator (Aaron Lake’s) life. CIA chief who is having a close watch on the activities of rival nations. Who is worried that USA’s funding on defense is not as much as he wants it to be. Although he is a crippled man who needs assistance in doing the simplest tasks but yet is so powerful that he can decide with a snap of the finger that who could be the next president and how?

Wow, what a story and the way they cross each other?s path is simply superb.

It makes me personaly happy to know in the last that at least in a story they had guts to dream that United States can have a Gay President.

I wanted to write something about the end of the Novel which is not convincing, (not to me at least) but not writing as I don?t wanna disclose the whole story so as you wont curse me and go read for yourself...

I am sure you will be happy to read this, the story is fast paced and you would be amazed by the imagination power of the writer. (The way he makes the CIA chief Think).
