Bent it and Broke it too

WARNING

All Gurinder Chadha fans leave immidiately...

Anyone planning to watch Bride and Prejudice, be prepared! Not to be swept away by the traditional waves that sweep these...ahem...actors...in the movie.. but by the fact that you are losing not only 100 bucks and more while watching the movie...but also because you are losing a perfect afternoon that could have been saved by sleeping and dreaming better fantasies than this!

Let’s see....why did I watch the movie...I have to admit to my fault there...see...the ticket was like 75 instead of 130, the usual...and you have to admit .. that the hypes were kinda pulling...So, I plan to see The Village by apna Shyamalan, but I end up watching another ’’i’m-so-unique-cause-I-live-outside-india-directors’’ and I have to admit Shyamalan would be 100 percent better.

So I enter the cinema hall (you know girls are allowed to go there! ) and what I see is a huge influx of kitty party crowds...all auntys...all clad with their heavy sari’s... carrying the latest cellphone model...GOSH, what that suppossed to mean something...? While her last movie had attracted the youth, it looked like this one would be more of a aunty-magnet...

I hoped the movie would prove me wrong...But Alas....

Gurinder Chadha....what have you done...?? Here I agree with Shobha De...who prays for Austen who must be rattled in her everlasting sleep..

Pride and Prejudice in an indian context....it could have worked...but the only person who acted close to her role was Mrs. Bennet a.k.a. Mrs. Bakshi...and by the way, Gruesome..can I call you that...of course I can...when you can call Austen’s most cherished heroine Lalita from Elizabeth....just one question...

WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?? Jane to Jaya, Lydia to Lucky... :8

And should I even come to Wickham, Darcy and Bingley..! Wickham did what to Darcy’s sis....Pardon me, madam..!

The only person Aishwarya Rai can be is awkward and although she looks ’’nice’’ in the movie......she’s....well...odd...and while Elizabeth in P AND P has been shown as a rational creature...well, here, Lalita (and not Lolita, ofcourse not) evades our rationality...

So, i’m sitting halfway through the movie thinking....what ’’paap’’ have I done... this could not be worse...and then what do we have to complicate the matter..... the snake dance ... poor mary... I pray for her soul each day...

They ask me...Was the movie able to keep you glued to the screen?

Well the only thing that could have kept me glued to the screen was well, Glue.

P.s. I’m doing penance....for myself and for our madame Grotesque...

I’m reading p and p again and writing a review on that again....

God save the queen.
