British Airways employee review- torture hub!!

Let me give you a brief of CallBA, the call center of British Airways in Gurgaon. I was hired and imagined I had got into a great firm. However, my god. It is such a small company, 04-05 middle-aged women occupying all the senior positions and running the company as if it is a primary school. You can’t talk, roam around freely, do this, do that! You’ll either abscond, leave in 06-07 months or become a "janaani"(irrespective of your gender) and stay forever.


If they hire you and state that you are going to get 35K, please beware that you shall get 30K-31K as the company deducts its share of PF from your CTC, and no one will ever inform this to you proactively before you join.


This company has got an over-abundance of women(not that I am complaining as my first boss 3 years ago was a brilliant lady) who choose to treat you as if you are a slave. The Operations Manager- Sargam, the Team Leads- Shikha Madan, Ayushi Tuli( THEY SHOUT AS IF THEY ARE BUS DRIVERS AT THEIR PEOPLE), the trainer- Sunaina(she is such a " janaani "), my god! I am glad that I left Call BA. Your saying anything generally can be twisted, molded and presented in a different manner. Now, come on- Middle-aged women who are frustrated in life and can’t get jobs elsewhere will do all of this.


Just three levels in Call BA- you start as an "agent ", become a Team lead and then finally a Manager. These 04-05 women have been with Call BA for 15+ years before becoming managers and so it is quiet unlikely that they will leave anytime soon.


No cafetaria- a small pantry is all they can afford. No incentives, no reason to stay motivated.


BRITISH AIRWAYS HAS ZERO JOB SECURITY. IF YOU FAIL IN ONE OF THE TRAINING TESTS, YOU ARE CHUCKED OUT. BY ACCIDENT, IF YOU EXCEED YOUR BREAKS 01-02 TIMES, THERE IS A WARNING LETTER. AND YES, THERE IS NO RETENTION POLICY IN BRITISH AIRWAYS. SO AFTER SERVING FOR 20+ YEARS, IF YOU SAY " I WANT TO LEAVE ", THEY WILL NOT ASK ONCE " WHY " AND LET YOU GO. TRULY, THEY VALUE THEIR EMPLOYEES A LOT.


Serious Advice to some people-


To Rajanee Balaram(MD, CallBA India)- You ask people to not use mobile phones on the floor and not shout. I have seen you personally howling in laughter with your shoe-licking managers on the floor when people were taking calls. And you call yourself Managing Director, seriously?


To Amrita Srivastava(Team Lead-training, CallBA)- Please manage your Sunaina. She is a big-time show off, portrays CallBA as a very cheap company right from day one and she is a trainer and does all the bitching, back-biting in the team that she trains.What made you hire her? You are the only sensible person I saw in CallBA.


Shikha( Team Lead) -learn some manners first and then come to be a team lead. And Sargam, stop being blind. Any sensible employee can file a legal case against Shikha for shouting and sounding threatening, and Call BA can chuck her out then.


Please, please, please resign- Rajanee, Shikha Madan, Sunaina, Sargam.
