I recently flew British Airways Mumbai-London-Mumbai, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised.
Having read mixed reviews on British Airways, I was quite apprehensive about the airline.
The experience started a couple of days before my flight with BA sending me an email informing me about baggage regulations and reminding me to check in online.
Check in on the day of travel was smooth, Long queue for baggage screening but that was expected. I joined the shorter online check in queue and was done in mins.
The flight was right on time. Boeing 747 Aircraft, Seats were very comfortable though seat pitch at 31 inches in Economy was a bit tight for me.(6) . but then I have leg space problems with almost every airline. However a seat pitch of 38 inches was available in Economy Plus. I guess Malaysia Airlines provides the best seat pitch for economy.
Food was good and the menu was just right for the time, a small snack for dinner, and a substantial Indian or English breakfast. Entertainment options galore as the inseat screens had a huge variety of movies and music available. I managed to catch up with one Oscar winning movie.
Flight crew was quite efficient and very helpful. Have no complaints on that front, Not Racist at all.
We reached Heathrow right on time.
Return flight was slightly delayed.but that was due to congestion at Heathrow. This time a Boeing 777 Aircraft.
Seating.comfortable and Flight crew .helpful. However this time Entertainment options were limited on the inseat screens. Food was ok.not good.
I would overall give them an over average rating.
