Disappointing

All though I must admit I havent read much of John Grisham, his work came highly recommended. Then I got my hands on The Firm and The Partner, which I liked quite a bit and this instigated me to explore Grisham’s work further.

Thats when someone gave me The Broker, and believe me when I say this, I was disappointed.

I was disappointed because the story has a very good potential, but somehow hasnt been carried out quite to well. Its quick and fast paced but leaves a lot of questions unanswered. I guess in the bid to make it fast moving, Grisham has made certain compromises.

On the other hand, I like it that he is experimented with a different theme or setting instead of his usual legal drama. Venturing into a once popular but now not so read realm of Spy Novels. But I guess people buy and read Grisham expecting a legal battle and that might have added to the disappointment.

Its a nice book if u want to pick-up basics of Italian and know about places in Italy. Also if u want to know about the secret government organisations around the world and their popular ’’modus-operandi’’ :)

In short, if u want a good travelouge combined with a bit of spy stuff .....then go ahead and read this. otherwise its better to keep a safe distance.
