Bruce Almighty is a movie I was waiting to watch but I never knew I would be dissapointed after watching it.

Lets get to the story first..Jim carrey plays bruce nolan a tv reporter thrown out of his job and from there his day gets worse..he gets beaten up , has a tiff with his girl and crashes his car. for all this he blames god .infact he whines away all the while. so god decides to give bruce his powers and see if he can do a better job. after this the movie is all too familiar...bruce using his powers for his personal gains, losing his girl and realising his mistake and getting everything back alongwith his girl in an all’s well that ends well feeling.

the movie doesnt work becoz it has that been there done that feeling with jim carrey repeating his act from his various other movies. no novelty just the same expressions and rubbery body stretches. carrey sucks big time in this act.

jennifer a. surprisingly is good in emotional scenes and is able to carry out her supporting act well..

morgan freeman is the man who saves this flick from the pits . his act is first rate as the one...GOD.

a couple of one-liners and the scene where carrey tries to sabotage the anchor’s act are funny ..not hilarious.

like god says in the movie ..people no longer want to do labour , but they dont know there is so much freedom in labour.

and one more thing , the way jim carrey goes on blaming god for his problems , he comes across as a loser and a whiner ( a term he uses for people who pray when he gets to play god) ...strange.

i wish the director and the crew and cast had read this before making this movie. it wudnt have felt like an assembly line product of jim carrey movies.
