’’Bruce Almighty’’-A typical Jim Carrey movie that remains a perfect
entertainer, provided you don’t ask for logics.The film is directed by Tom
Shadyac, written by Steve Koren, Mark O’Keefe and Steve Oedekerk.
Bruce Nolan(Jim Carrey) fits perfectly to the character(TV reporter) as if it is
made for him.Grace(Jennifer Aniston) is his girl friend who doesn’t have much to do in the film and so remains quite and beautiful through the movie.Morgan Freeman plays GOD and is very apt.
The hilarious plot , punchy dialogues makes you sit throughout the movie , never bores you and is one of the pluses of the movie.Invariably Jim grabs our attention at all times.Either as a unsatisfied, dejected fellow or the one who has suddenly attained a new power in his life, Jim Carrey Shakes you.Jim’s dog forms a hilarious character usually peeing on Jim’s sofa.When things doesn’t go right at any point, desperations at the peak, Bruce meets God who empower him with his own supernatural powers and the story catches fire.
The scene when Bruce meets god is a special mention.Nicely furnished Scene.Even after he gets all those ’’Almighty’’ powers, he finds there a tint of unhappiness , when his Girl friend leaves him.He realizes the truth about life from then.You can find typical gestures of Jim everywhere in the movie , for instance ’’When Bruce paints the sky and pulls the moon down, causing Tsunami in other parts of the world’’, ’’When Bruce says’’GOOD’’ along with God.’’ and lots of that.
Special effects though are not breath taking are fine enough to suit the movie and powers of Almighty.The prayers of people getting collected as emails is a very creative and catchy idea.Good work!
May be a few may feel the film has a unhealthy script, but even then entertainment is the vital hold and is worth a watch.
