I have bought BSA Street Rider almost 6 months back. I would give my feedback earlier also, but waited for some more time to check it’s reliability. I am satisfied with the e-scooter. It can easily carry me my wife and my child. Although it was planned for single adult and a child, but some times it become necessary to carry more than that. Street rider can handle those emergency also. It’s all right except fuels efficiency - even for single ride it can not move more than 35-40 KM per charge. Service centre people say that it’s ok. In battery test it can run 140 minutes with 8 Amp load. So theoretically it can run 30*140/60 = 70 KM. But not practically. After first service it’s max speed it now 30 KMPH.
It’s optimum, further increase in speed will drain battery very quickly. It gives warning beep when battery is going to be discharged - and run almost 2 KM after starting beep. Hope it’s a plus point. Although it’s not related to BSa, but the cost of the battery is very high - it costs Rs 10, 500. When government wants that public use electric vehicles, they should consider this issue also. Normally electric scooty is planned for short distance journey. In my case cost of petrol for one full year journey would be at the most Rs 1, 500 and a battery could last up to 2 years. So I am not gaining for this point of view.
Recently observing a new problem in this e-scooty, after rainy season (although the scooty has not got rain water at all) the digital speedometer is not working all the time. Some times it’s working some times it not. Service centre people told that this is a common problem and can not be rectified. But as a user I think this should be taken care by BSA
