BSNL 3G datacard

I’ve a BSNL 3G datacard which I bought about 4 months back. On its back side speed indicated is 7.2 Mbps. I’ve an unlimited plan for 6 months. Normally I get connected fairly easily. Signal strength is around 80% in the areas of Rajkot I operate.

Speed is abysmally bad. After about 5 mts. of use it quietly stops responding even though it shows as connected. Many times it disconnects quietly and doesn’t allow you to reconnect. Since I had this only as a fall -back I didn’t complain much initially. Later on when I found it totally useless I spoke to their DyGM. He was pleased to dispatch one team after another.

They fooled around with it and could do nothing better.I heard everybody else in Rajkot has suffered the same fate. Some are too ashamed to complain. If it is so bad here I doubt if it can be significantly better elsewhere. On the whole, it’s as big a scam as Raja scam. I recommend not to go for it even if it’s offered free. I don’t think BSNL can survive long enough!
